• Richard has only done 47 races but has already has nine wins to his credit.
• Richard completed his Automotive Engineering Design degree course at Oxford Brooks, where he was sponsored by TWR / Arrows F1.
• Richard moved over to Renault F1 this year after Super Aguri went into administration. He now engineers Romain Grosjean, Nelson Piquet Jnr and Fernando Alonso on the Test Team
• Richard won more races (5) in the ARCA Alfa Romeo Championship (F) than any other driver and was third in the final results.
• Richard's most spectacular shunt was at Mallory Park in June 2000, when his Alfa Romeo 75 was destroyed in a huge shunt, when a competitor bounced back into the track in front of Richard. Racing for the day was cancelled as damage to the crash barriers was not repairable and Richard spent the night in hospital. (with a very pretty Doctor!).
