The Spa 25 hours is the longest non-stop race in the world and attracts an entry of over 150 cars from the all over Europe with teams also coming from Australia and the USA. You can watch a crazy first lap with a Connell racing in car clip from 2006 on YouTube. Our best result in the race has been 9th overall and 2nd in the UK class. The SPA 25 hour team for 2009Race Drivers: Ian Connell, Marc Connell, Franck Pelle, Lars Fredrik Berg. (Richard Connell is away in South America for 3 months) Ian and Marc are regulars but we are delighted to have secured the services of two very special drivers for this race:
Frenchman Franck Pelle has over 15 years race experience in many series including GT racing, Britcar, British GT, Belcar and in the Fun Cup. Cars raced include Porsche 996 Turbo, Porsche 911, Chrysler Viper GTS-R & Ferrari F355. Last year he was part of the successful JPR team that won the SPA 25 hour race outright, the first UK team to win the race. He is the owner of Frenchstone and is based in the UK.
Lars Fredrik Berg is a Norwegian, resident in Germany. He raced with us in the 2007/8 SPA 25 hours. Lars is a race instructor on the infamous Nürburgring Nordschleife race circuit and also a freelance race instructor with the Porsche Sport Germany Driving School. In 2008 he was the BMW Challenge Champion on the Nürburgring Nordschleife with his BMW 318is, with two wins, three second places and one third place. By profession he is a Project leader at the Fraunhofer-Institut Chemische Technologie (ICT) .
